Our vineyards are located just west of Tehachapi, California on the sunny, south slope of an isolated ridge of 220 million-year-old rocks from the Triassic geologic period -- the dawn of the dinosaurs. The rich, rocky soils reward us with wine grapes of exceptional character. Click the dinosaur icon below to learn more about the Triassic age and our legacy.
On Saturday April 5, 2008, more than 100 volunteers donated their time to help the owners of Triassic Legacy plant 7.1 acres of vines. More than 6300 vines were planted that day...
3.1 acres of Zinfandel
2.9 acres of Viognier
1.1 acres of Syrah
Triassic Legacy expects to have a plentiful harvest of 5,859 gallons of wine in the fall of 2010. The owners plan to plant the remaining acres of vines after the tasting room is established. They hope to have 11 acres of vines planted in total. When complete, Triassic Legacy should have 908 vines planted per acre -- 9,988 vines in total.
